Cyril Garnier — A Naturalist’s Eye across the Var

Amateur wildlife photographer & nature lover in the Var

Patient Handheld Approach & Humility

Passionate nature lover and amateur photographer, Cyril Garnier explores the wild landscapes of the Var with humility and wonder. Still a beginner in Mediterranean birdwatching, he wanders through marshes, salt pans, and scrubland with no scientific pretense, simply driven by the joy of observing free birds and learning from them in the field. Creator of the journal thelittle77.fr in Seine-et-Marne and thelittle75.fr in Paris, he extends his field notebook to the Mediterranean with TheLittle83 (thelittle83.fr). No heavy blind, no camouflage suit: just patient, handheld walking, governed by one golden rule — never disturb wildlife or force an encounter. From the salt lagoons of Hyères to the Maures hills, the coastal trails of Giens, the reedbeds of La Garde, and the slopes of Carqueiranne, he shares his sightings and favorites with the genuine enthusiasm of someone in love with nature.

TheLittle Trilogy

The TheLittle Trilogy, cyrilgarnier.fr & Alkymya Studio

TheLittle83 forms alongside TheLittle77 (thelittle77.fr, Seine-et-Marne) and TheLittle75 (thelittle75.fr, Paris) the territorial naturalist trilogy founded by Cyril Garnier. This author ecosystem is anchored by his official fine art portfolio cyrilgarnier.fr and the creative venture alkymya.co. All three journals share the exact same editorial philosophy, independent voice, and strict commitment to Rule 11: publishing exclusively species photographed in the wild by the author.

Field Ethics Charter

For Cyril Garnier, bird welfare always takes precedence over getting the shot. No photo ever justifies disturbing nesting sites or crucial feeding zones.

1

Absolute priority given to bird tranquility: no intrusive approach during nesting, feeding, or critical migratory stopovers.

2

Strict adherence to protected sanctuary rules: zero off-trail excursions on Conservatoire du Littoral dikes and salt pans.

3

Rule 11 Option 1: only bird species photographed in the wild by Cyril Garnier are accepted into the official Atlas (zero agency or stock photos).

4

100% wild and natural-light photography: no baiting, no artificial luring, no harassment via acoustic playback.

5

Protection of sensitive breeding sites: no metric GPS disclosure of nesting colonies for vulnerable Mediterranean species.
